Meet Lynda Strain

Lynda Strain Cosmetics is the brainchild of International, Certified makeup artist and educator Lynda Strain. Originally from Mullaghbawn, a small village in County Armagh, Lynda always had a passion for makeup and skin health. Her beauty career began at the age of 17 completing various Beauty Therapy qualifications (C.I.B.T.A.C and C.I.D.E.S.C.O.) as well as working in salons.

Since then Lynda’s career has grown dramatically from opening her first beauty salon ‘Secret Essence’, at the age of 20 and turning it into a day spa. It was a roaring success for the past 19 years.

A believer in education, Lynda continued to upskill by studying Fashion and Photographic Makeup, Advanced Art of Makeup, Makeup for T.V and Film Makeup and Face & Body Art. Which led to further expansion of her business adding the Lynda Strain School of Makeup. This allowed Lynda to help aspiring Makeup Artists and those wishing to upskill. Through this venture, Lynda’s love of all things makeup began to grow more and her dreams had started to become a reality.

Lynda’s career as a makeup artist presented many opportunities. As well as being part of over 2000 bride’ to be, special day, she has worked on many hair and fashion shows, and photoshoots in Ireland and abroad. Her work in the entertainment industry enabled her to be part of many TV Productions with RTE, Irish TV, BBC, TG4, Irish Country Music TV, including the Electric Burma Concert organised by Sir Bob Geldof for Amnesty International (2012).
